On August 31, Toddlers and Tiaras featured a 4-year old wearing fake breasts and butt enhancements, dressed as Dolly Parton. "It was an outfit that was made for me when I used to compete in pageants," said Lindsay Jackson during the episode. "When she wears the fake boobs and fake butt, it's an added bonus and it's really funny...they all of a sudden realize she is Dolly...we tend to score really well with it." Facing viewer outrage TLC pulled the show's Facebook page, but that didn't stop the show from featuring a 3-year-old dressed as Julia Roberts's Vivian Ward, a prostitute, in Pretty Woman.

Holy @!$%#ing @!$%#. I really think some parents need classes on how to raise children. I hate you TLC.

Yeah, that show is terribly disturbing. I watched one season of it to determine if all the uproar was just drama-lama or not. It's not. That show is disgusting on several levels and the exploitation of these little girls as sex pots is, quite frankly, bordering on the behavior of a pimp.
I have zero respect for the parents of these little girls. None. Zilch. In fact, I disrespect them very much. This is far and away different from an innocent little girl playing dress up at home.
My husband watched half of one episode then had to turn away because he said it made him feel very angry at the over sexualization of 5 year olds. I think he said something along the lines of feeling he needed to take a shower as watching it made him feel as though he just swam through filth.

I HATE what this @!$%#ing stupid show is doing to these poor children! When are people going to wake up!?

The first thing that separates an adult from an immature individual is that adults know to protect children until they have grown past the age of innocence, and can self advocate.

Maybe these parents are still to immature to self advocate?

Too bad they're able to self replicate.

If I'm reading it right, at least one of the parents was a victim of this already. Unfortunately because of that she thinks it's fine.

Breaking past experiences and behaviors is difficult. But not impossible.
The love for the child should help the parent overcome past demons to end the cycle here and now.

I betcha that if those parents went through what their kids do they would not even think about doing such things.

Disgusting. And I'm guessing these parents are the same ones who scream the loudest when societal standards are set ridiculously high for grown women. They need to look in the mirror. They set the standard and legitimized the practice by thinking it's "cute" to turn their kids into prosti-tots at a young age.

What ever happened to cute little girls singing "Good Ship Lollipop"

I would like to slap some "edgy" into these mothers when these kids end up pregnant at 14 if not younger.

You don't think Shirley Temple was exploited? Look how short her skirts were, they were nothing more than panties with a tutu/crinoline attached. Although it was a more innocent time, but the little dresses weren't much better than the crap these little girls wear.....

Of all of the Shirley Temple pictures I could find, this was the most "revealing"

Essentially, a ballet outfit. I have no problem with young girls in ballet outfits. I DO have a problem with people putting fake boobs and butts on three year olds and am frankly...kinda surprised you don't see much of a difference.
Maybe if more little girls were in ballet outfits and actually learning a talent that promoted a ahealthy lifestyle, fewer girls would be in fake tits and enough makeup to kill a horse.

The fake teeth, overly styled hair and makeup are probably the most accentuated and pronounced and offensive to me. The "Glamour Shot" persona is disgusting and not suitable for a young girl.
I see little girls running around in tutus with t-shirts all of the time. I don't find this offensive at all as they aren't wearing makeup or have their hair look like some 80's celebrity. They are simply natural little girls wearing fluffy Crinolines. I don't find the overly fluffy dresses unsettling unless they are also wearing wearing high heel shoes. Little girls like to dress up and there are extremes and Toddlers in Tiaras is an extreme.
Suri Cruise is one that concerns me with all of her inappropriate footwear. I know that my girls loved to dress up and had their trunk of costumes. They didn't wear these in public. I think allowing children to wear inappropriate footwear for play is child neglect. I've seen it here on the island and on the mainland and these children are unable to walk properly cannot run in these shoes and are continually twisting their ankles and stumbling.

When my daughter got too big for 6X children's clothing in 1974 I was upset that much of the 7-14 sizes for girls seemed inappropriate to me. The same thing happened with her younger sister 16 years later and my oldest's daughter after that. We wondered what was up with "hoochie Mama" outfits and refused to purchase them. We wanted out girls to look like girls not Barbie Doll clones.
I've watched this show a couple of times with my younger daughter who is 29 years old now. We both find it alarming and appalling. I think the worst part is a 3-5 year old female has no need to be anything but a child and this exploitation is an abomination. The parents are obviously far to immature and self-centered to parent and I think it is wrong to televise such trash. I try not to be judgmental but I've worked with children for years and those that are "little models" and made to perform for their parent's benefit usually do not fare well.
